Dyeing to boost my confidence.

Posted on November 17, 2015 by Erika Scott

It’s no secret that for most women, getting their hair done usually gives them a confidence boost. After the last couple of months as of late, I’ve been feeling pretty down about myself. It’s nothing in particular, I just got caught in a slump of not feeling beautiful. It actually really crashed my self-esteem, making me feel empty is the best way to describe it. So…I decided to dye my hair, I’ve never been the type of woman to go to the salon every couple of weeks. I just seem to find better ways to spend my money, on things that I deem more important {even if some things are really not}. Even though I avoid the salon, I still managed to get my hair coloured at the very least every 8 months or so with the home dyeing kits. I never chose “wild” colours, mostly because I wasn’t really interested in having bright hair although, some bright hair looks gorgeous! My natural hair colour is dark brown, it’s so dark brown that it resembles black occasionally. That’s of course until the grey/white hairs started to appear, it’s not intense amounts but at twenty-five I shouldn’t be getting those!!

In my whole life I’ve only ever dyed my hair three different colours, there was this one time when I was 12-13 years old; I got my mom to streak my hair blond (with a home hair dye kit). Another time I think I got my boyfriend at the time, to dye my hair I choose the colour red. I’m not sure if I we just didn’t do it right, or if it’s just because my hair is so dark; but you could barely tell it was coloured the only noticeable spot was on the top of my head lol. The most recent colour that I dye my hair is called “black-blue”, it’s actually just black with a small tint of blue in it. I absolutely adore the colour, and how soft my hair feels after we’ve coloured it. 😀 The pictures don’t do it any justice!hairdye(1)

Have you ever dyed your hair? How often do you get it done? What colour is it? Do you do it at home or in a salon?
