It’s been months, but there finally gone!

Posted on January 2, 2016 by Erika Scott

It’s been a long four days RECAP four days ago: I was washing clothes, I turned on the washing machine; and added laundry soap like I usually do. I put my clothes in then proceeded to fold the clothes from the dryer {for the record this folding laundry as I wash it isn’t routine, putting it in a laundry basket for later is more my style}. A minute later the washing machine water stopped running, I thought it was odd because I knew the machine couldn’t be full. I tried turning the machine off, and then back on…nope it had died. I can’t say that I’m surprised it’s over 20 years old, *sigh* the joys of renting. Despite that our New Year has been heading into a positive direction.

On December 27th I finally sold the filing cabinet, it’s been downstairs for a while. I got the brilliant idea a couple of months ago to move it upstairs, in hopes that it would motivate me to sell it faster. Really all that happened was it got shuffled around from the front door, to the kitchen and then beside our elliptical trainer when my grandma came to visit. Finally at Christmas it got shuffled back to the kitchen, where we used it as an island for food until someone showed interested in coming to get it on the 27th.

We also had a queen size box spring, just sitting downstairs in the basement for well over a year. We moved it upstairs to the hallway so that I could sell it, and it ended up sitting there for way longer then I want to admit. Then yesterday when our landlord came to take a look at our broken washing machine, this sweet lady a long with her kids and husband came to pick it up.

You can’t believe how much more spacious the kitchen and our hallway feels. I’m happy the stress that those items is now gone, and now today I’m excited that our landlord replaced our washing machine with a newer used machine. It’s just in time for me to wash my clothes for work. 🙂

How’s your New Year going so far?
