October 26th: This is my fourth pregnancy, by now you would think I’d know what to expect. Yet here I am still learning, that every single pregnancy is different.
Today I had an ultrasound, and I officially got to see the baby. Little one looks to be waving in the ultrasound picture. 🙂 Little babe is moving a lot, and looks healthy.
Baby is as big as a Lime, and should have all important organs.
I was diagnosed with a Subchorionic Hemorrhage Hematoma (Subchorionic Hematoma.)
Which explains all the bleeding that I’ve had, so far this pregnancy. It affects roughly 25% of women in their first trimester. Who knew? Today the ultrasound tech measured the pool of blood, and it’s 7cm in length. Which freaks me out, that’s a scary thing to Google search. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Since my bleeding hasn’t stopped, the doctors are wanting to keep a close eye on me. I have another ultrasound scheduled for November 9th.
It’s a precaution to make sure, the Subchorionic hematoma isn’t growing. Let’s ignore the fact that they wouldn’t be able, to do anything at this point. I wouldn’t be so worried, if society didn’t constantly tell women that bleeding during pregnancy automatically means you’re having a miscarriage.
Up until a few days ago, I believed that to be true. Than I went on a google search, I read some pretty scary things. However I did also read some very comforting stories, about how people who had the same thing and their babes are healthy toddlers/kids/teens now.
I’ve just got to let my body rest, and hope that it does it’s job to protect this little one. I’m sure this babe is a fighter though, and the silver-lining is I get to see another peek of the little one on the 9th!
If you want more information on Subchorionic Hematoma’s give this link a look at https://emedicine.medscape.com/article/404971-overview . Remember with everything, there’s always going to be some good and some bad.
November 9th: Hello second trimester! Little babe is a fighter, the pool of blood is still there but it’s not growing! I had hoped that the pool of blood, would have been reabsorbed by my body…so far it hasn’t.
Baby is as big as a Lemon, they say babe can now squint and frown.
In the last couple of weeks, I haven’t really noticed any new pregnancy symptoms. I’ve been fortunate not to get any morning sickness, I’m just really tired ALL THE TIME. One could argue that’s just what happens, when your working and you’ve got 3 kids already.
I just got my first pregnancy food craving, Crepes! Otherwise I’ve been wanting healthier foods, but no other food cravings so far. I have been wanting ice water a lot though, a nice tall glass of ice water. Mmmm.
I’ve been a bit self-conscious about my baby bump. Due to the fact that I was more over-weight, at the beginning of this pregnancy than any of my others. Which means I’ve been avoiding the bump selfies, but I finally managed to take one.
I’m going to make an effort to, document this pregnancy weekly. Documenting this pregnancy should be more important to me, than how I feel about what my belly looks like.
