Are you ready? Roughly four months ago, I said I’d have a BIG announcement to share. On April 1st, we announced to the kids the big news, I even posted it on a couple of my social media accounts. I should mention that we don’t celebrate April Fools, so it didn’t occur to me at the time that people might think it was a joke.
It’s not a joke it official we are taking the trio on their first international trip, this is huge we’ll be going for seven days to Holguin, Cuba. We’re leaving on the 20th of April, and coming back on my birthday the 27th. That gives us enough time to have a great time, but not too much time that the kids start getting home sick.“Keera, Zaden, Emilee,
Pack your bags, we are traveling together on a family vacation to paradise to soak up the sun at the beach in Cuba! Our great adventure starts in 19 sleeps. We will be taking a plane to a ocean-side hotel. Love, mom & meme. xoxo”I obsessed in my mind over, and over on the perfect way to tell the kids about our big trip. I ended up settling with a more affordable idea, we bought the kids stuff that they’ll be able to use on the trip. I went to Micheal’s, and spent 30$ on Cuban inspired wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, and a ton of stickers.
This probably wasn’t the best place to go and buy stickers, because the price of stickers there is ridiculous although they do have a huge selection to choose from. I could have spent a lot more money, but I decided to rein it in since we’re going on our trip later on this month!
I wrapped up the kids gifts separately, we bought Emilee a bathing suit, a Cuban looking dress, and some sunglasses. Keera and Zaden each got a shirt, shorts, and some sun glasses. My plan was to make an adorable letter to the kids, half written and the other half with fun stickers.Today we went to Costco to grab a couple of essentials for the next week, of course we ended up grabbing a ton of stuff we didn’t need. We ended up having a classic hot dog for supper, who even goes to Costco and doesn’t have a hot dog?
We’re only April, and they’ve already started setting out the summer stuff. Which worked to my advantage this time, I got this cute “picnic” table setting thing. I’ve been looking for a container to hold the kids utensils, I don’t like having them in drawer it takes up too much space. So when I seen this I just had to buy it, it’s even got a place for napkins and paper plates.I should clarify that we don’t use paper plates often, so this container for them keeps them organized and out of the cupboard. 🙂
