I was M.I.A, but now I’m back!

Posted on October 16, 2016 by Erika Scott

I’ve been a bit M.I.A lately, I’ve got a lot of things going on. I’m mentally exhausted, and I needed a break from blogging. This blog is supposed to be my place, it’s supposed to be where I write whatever I want to write. Lately I’ve been struggling with that, one part of me wants to blog and the other part of me just doesn’t seem to care. I don’t have any frequent readers, and I’m lucky if I get a couple of page views in a month. I get it.. I haven’t got much of reading material to offer. I desperately wish I could be one of those bloggers, the kind that captivates others with their witty, humorous, helpful posts but I’m not. When I first started my blog I had this idea of how I wanted my blog to be, and that what I would write about would captivate readers.

However lately it’s felt like a chore to post, maybe it’s having a broken computer screen. I don’t like having to use the tv to write, it limits me to writing in the living room or my room. Also not much new stuff has been happening in my life lately. How can you write about stuff when you haven’t really done anything new? Right now my life consists of sending the kids off to school, and going to work. I’m trying to focus on cleaning up our place, making a budget, and a debt repayment plan that I can stick to. These are all things that need to be done, in order to move forward in what I want to do. I’m trying to be so many things, and it’s just pulling me apart. It’s almost like being a hamster on a wheel, I’m going around and around getting exhausted; but I’m not actually going anywhere. So I’m going to give you a quick catch-up, on what’s been going on.img_10141On the 7th we went out for supper to Red Lobster, we went to celebrate my oldest daughter’s friends birthday. Afterwards we went to the store and bought some stuff, then headed home to have a movie night with the kids. It’s the first official movie night we’ve had in a while. It was nice we had juice, and I made popcorn we ended up snuggling on the couch watching the movie.

Keera and Zaden were too busy with their aunt and uncle to let me get their picture.

On the 8th the kids aunt, uncle, grandma and dad ended up coming out to visit for the day. We ended up having lunch at our place, and hung out of a couple of hours. Then we went to Chuck-e-cheese, it was mine and the kids first time there. Personally I don’t understand what the hype about it is, it’s just some arcade games with overpriced crappy pizza, and a mouse suit lol.thebigspickedtheircostumes1On the 9th we went and took the kids to see Stork at the theater. It’s seriously the cutest movie ever, and the entire movie brought on major baby fever for me lol. Emilee and I got dropped off at home, and the bigs went with their grandparents for the night. They ended up picking out their Halloween costumes, Keera decided she wanted to be a Gothic Princess, and Zaden wanted to be a Minion.img_10661On the 10th we went out to the farm to have Thanksgiving supper together, this year instead of having the traditional turkey we had ham.img_11551On the 15th we went out to Edmonton/Sherwood Park to visit some family. We all went out for supper with my brother at IHOP, it’s the first time I’ve been there in years. I got this amazing omelette, completely worth the calories lol. We ended up spending the night, and decided to head home later on this evening. It’s going to be a late night, but I can’t wait until I can climb into my bed!trio1
