Canada Day, this is the first time since I moved to Calgary that we decided to go partake in the celebration held downtown. We started the day off by taking the C-train to downtown Calgary, it was packed as you would expect it to be on any holiday. We got there it was so overwhelming all the things to see. There was a lady wearing barely any clothes covered in gold glitter. Yikes, to have the figure and confidence to wear that! We started off by going to see this man do a magic show, he wasn’t very entertaining, so after a while Zaden got restless so we decided to go check out the other things. We searched for the comfort of air conditioning in the mall, there was a youth group preforming some songs, so we ate some ice cream while we listened to them sing and watched them dance. They were pretty good. After awhile once again mister 3 year old wanted to go do something else, so we found the native teepee’s, there was a tons of grass to run around and play with but that didn’t keep Zaden busy. Zaden thought it would be funny to run off towards the Bow Valley stage, we followed him to the stage where there was some native dancing, certainly Zaden’s atmosphere, jumping around and dancing. After some dancing and jumping around. We started heading out and we found a lady teaching kids to do a native jig. Keera and Zaden took some persuading, but they decided to go and dance, after some dancing they both got prizes for dancing so well with their partners. Little miss Emilee woke up and watched her siblings dance. With a huge grin on her face.We decided it was way too hot to spend the day downtown, on our way out the kids seen a man and woman making balloon animals. Naturally we stopped to get them each one (Keera got a unicorn and Zaden chose a puppy.) The heat was becoming too much to bare, so we headed to the C-train and stopped at the next downtown stop and got everyone a hot dog & drink. We all came to the conclusion downtown wasn’t the place to be, the lake was.
