The last two days have been eventful, yesterday my mom, Emilee and I went to see “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” in the theater. I’ve been waiting since 2002 (when I was 12 years old) ever since I seen the first movie for this sequel to come out, that’s 14 years people! I loved the first movie, and everything about it. Since it’s been so long since the first one, me and I’m sure everyone else that was hoping for a sequel has been building up our expectations. The best part about the second movie is that they managed to have all the original cast members, which I thought was pretty incredible. The story line involves Toula and Ian’s daughter, and a wedding (not that you should be surprised). I don’t want to give anything else away because I hate spoilers, but it’s definitely a movie worth watching. It’s actually very funny so for those of you that haven’t seen the first one “My Big Fat Greek Wedding“, you should watch that one first so that you have somewhat of an idea as to who is who. As always Emilee did fantastic, she just sat and watched the previews with her popcorn tray on her lap. Every time we laughed, or people in the theater laughed she would laugh too. Then today we went to another Calgary moms trade show, it was at a hotel and they had a special guest “Elsa”. If you’ve got kids you are likely very knowledgeable about who “Elsa” is, she’s the ice princess from the famous movie Frozen. She’s been popular since the movie came out back in 2013, and she’s been the talk of our house since the movie came out.Keera my 7 years old used to be obsessed with her, but has since toned it down to just someone she likes. Emilee however loves to sing and dance to “Let it go” the famous song that’s associated with Frozen the movie. She often mentions Elsa and Anna from the movie, it’s a couple words in her vocabulary that she uses a lot. So when I found out that Elsa was going to be at the mom trade show, I knew we had to register right away. My original plan was to take all three kids to go and see her, but it turns out that Zaden and Keera were more excited about getting their quad. So my mom and I just brought Emilee with us, the moment that she seen Elsa she was star struck. Once the lady said hello to her, she came out of her shock and went up to give her a hug. She followed up by sitting on her lap and posing for a really cute photo. We took a couple of pictures, then decided to go and browse around at the tables. There was way more people at this trade show compared to the last one, and a lot of draw gift baskets to enter. Some of the draws I was more interested in than others.
I’ve got my heart set on the Scentsy one, mostly because I’ve been wanting to buy Scentsy since forever. I’ve just been skeptical about spending the money on it, especially since I know of many other things I could be spending the money on…but if I won this basket I would have a couple of different scent wax cubes, and a Dinosaur scent buddy along with a couple of air fresheners. It would be a pretty awesome birthday gift, if I did win it. There’s another draw that I would really enjoy winning, it’s a draw for $10,000 dollars cash. Can you imaging what you can do with that chunk of change? I would certainly be saying hello to a family vacation on the beach, some savings, and even paying off some debt!
What’s something you did for fun this weekend or plan on doing this week alone or with your child(ren)?
