Today’s my birthday I’m twenty-six years old, yet another year has come and gone just as fast as the last. (CLICK HERE) to see what I did for my twenty-fifth birthday. Yesterday I was surprised with an early birthday present. I won that draw for the Scentsy basket that I really wanted, and after much back and forth we finally were able to arrange a time to get it. Would you like to know the funny thing about it, inside the basket there was a “Happy Birthday” scent pouch. The lady wasn’t aware that my birthday was/would be coming up, so I think it was just meant to be that I was supposed to win it. 🙂 Maybe next year I’ll have better luck and win the 10,000 cash money draw, here’s to hoping. This year I was scheduled to work the day before my birthday, so after heading home I had to get Keera ready for school. Most importantly I had to get her ready for picture day, I find it amusing that for the last two-years picture day is on my birthday. She wished me a happy birthday, gave me my homemade birthday card and was in a happy mood. (Thanks sweetheart!!) Once she was out the door I headed to bed, only to be woken a couple of hours later by my mom who surprised me with a Mocha Frappuccino from Starbucks, my favourite flowers (Gerber Daisy’s) and an edible arrangement. I love my mom every year without fail she goes above, and beyond to make me feel special on my birthday. She even manages to make it feel special when she’s out of the country.
This year my mom’s around, but I’ve got to work tonight so the festivity plans aren’t all that big. This year my sister happens to be in the city going to school too, so were all going for supper together. I got to pick the place and I picked one of my favourite places to go Applebee’s. I just love the Fiesta Lime Chicken from there, I know it’s a pretty easy dish to make. All you really need is chicken breast, Mexican spicy rice, some cheese to melt, and coloured taco bits. Let’s get real though, I don’t just enjoy going to restaurants for the food, it’s the fountain drinks, it’s the environment that gets me out of the apartment, and I don’t have to have to worry about the after clean up. Did I also mention that a huge perk is being able to start eating my food and finish eating it while it’s still hot?!Once again this wasn’t a wild birthday for me, but I never really did have wild birthdays… even before I had kids. The important thing to me is I got to spend most of my day with a lot of people who I care about, and they went out of their way to make me feel special. That’s what’s truly important, and while I’m working tonight (yes the night of my birthday) I can’t say that I’m upset. I know that my little ones will be safe and peacefully asleep at home. While I get to be surrounded by some pretty cool people with adult conversation, with the perk of being paid 😉 . The only thing I’ll be missing out on is birthday cake, because we didn’t have time but were all stuffed from the restaurant anyway.
What did you do/plan to do on your birthday this year?
