Well it’s been a pretty good year, 2015 has definitely had a lot of ups and downs for our family. I would be lying if I said there wasn’t more downs then ups. Still I am very thankful because this year has really helped me grow as a person. I want to start off 2016 with less stress and less clutter. My mom and I started to tackle some of the clutter downstairs in the basement, filling up our recycling bin to the rim. It’s a step in the right direction, but we don’t often go downstairs in the spare rooms; so I don’t mind putting it off a little bit longer while we tackle the other rooms we see more often.
There is something I see every day that stresses me out. It bothers me every morning and every night. I can see it from the living room couch, I can see it from the kitchen table…it’s even the first thing I see when I go down the hallway towards our room. It’s the clutter on top and around of Zaden’s dresser. It’s been taunting me for months it’s also something I want dealt with before the New Year. I wasn’t sure where to start so I just dove in, I started off by taking the stuff off the floor. I put the humidifier in the closet closest to the bathroom, I put that pampers box near the door {it has a bunch of towels in it from my laundry room clean up}. It was supposed to be donated or given away to someone, but instead I put it there to be forgotten…oops.Once that was done I sorted stuff into piles, all of the books went down to the living room to be put on the bookshelf. The yarn and crayons had to be put into the blue craft and games cabinet. I had to put the little wallet, bracelet and book mark where they belong in Keera’s room. The orange basket was set aside it had some cords I have to sort through, I will likely be sorting through them and putting them in a plastic bin in the living-room. I put the paperclips on top of the blue craft cabinet to be organized later. I honestly don’t have a spot for those right now, since I got rid of my desk. I made a bigger mess by throwing the recycling and garbage into a pile on the floor, but that shouldn’t take too long to be sorted.I always find it very difficult to sort through the papers, after all I don’t know what to do with it all.You know the stuff you don’t want to keep, but you have to keep it for whatever reason like taxes. There was some notes and drawings from the kids, I always feel so guilty throwing that out… but I also know that I can’t keep it all so I picked my favorite ones to keep and recycled the rest. I made a couple of extra file folders, and put them in the my file box; so I know exactly where to find them when I need them. I made one for stickers, another for Keera’s school stuff, and one more for instruction booklets.I’m pretty excited that I was able to get the top and around of Zaden’s dresser all cleared off before the New Year. The floor is now clear and the only things left on top of his dresser are his piggy bank {emptied for the picture 😛 }, and his new headphones that he got for Christmas. Tonight we will be ordering Chinese food to celebrate, and I look forward to a connecting with everyone in the New Year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
