MERRY CHRISTMAS I hope everyone had a wonderful day!Something I noticed about our family is everyone gets showered and dressed before we open presents. I mean only the adults shower, but the last couple of years we always postpone opening gifts until everyone is ready. I’ve got to admit I really like this idea, it’s not something we discussed it’s just something that started to happen. It’s nice though because I’ve never really been a big fan of opening gifts before showering, I just don’t feel my best before I shower. So here is our Christmas morning routine at my place:
1. Everyone showers/get’s dressed.
2. Coffee drinkers make some coffee and we all head into the living room.
3. Keera opens up her birthday presents.
4. The kids do their Christmas stockings and the Santa Bag.
5. We followed up and do the actual gift opening.
Since the kids only have to get dressed their usually ready before us adults, and this year Zaden sneaked a peak at his stocking. So my brother decided to pull a little prank on him to teach him a lesson. The kids had all got ornaments in their stocking {Zaden got a batman one}, so my brother just switched the batman ornament with one of the girls princess ornaments. The kids opened up their stockings {they each have their own special stocking}, and as you can see in the pictures Zaden wasn’t too impressed with his uncle lol. Once they finished opening their stockings they opened up the “Santa Bag”{this is a new tradition that I decided to start this year with the kids}. Santa Bag: It’s a magical bag that we put under the Christmas tree the night before Christmas, then when Santa comes to our house he puts something inside that is for all the kids. The Santa bag and stockings are the only things that Santa brings for the kids.Even though I restrained myself and only bought the kids a small amount of gifts {compared to last year when I went way too overboard}, they still got way more than enough gifts from everyone else. After we opened up all the presents, my mom made us all breakfast. It was something from Costco called “Breakfast Hash Smoked bacon” with eggs, it was mouth-watering! Fast forward we had made a big supper like we do every Christmas, and after supper we had some ice cream cupcakes from Dairy Queen. Plus some chocolate icing regular pastry ones from good old Superstore. I think it was another successful Christmas, as much as I enjoyed it I’m glad that it’s over until next year. I can’t believe that Keera is 7 years old, I think I’m going to cry time is flying by way too fast.I’ve got over 80 more pictures adults included of today, but that’s just too many to post. So enjoy a little bit of the highlighted reel of our Christmas. I know everyone got completely spoiled this year, including myself. 🙂
What did your family do for Christmas? What cool stuff did you and your kids get? I hope you all had a fantastic time!!
