Well it’s that time of the year again, themed cookies…the kids and I love these. I know that you can buy these cookies year round at the grocery store. Heck let’s be honest I could probably get the recipe out of the one of my many cookbooks, but the thing is because I only buy these for certain holidays it limits how many we eat I eat lol. Making these cookies from scratch doesn’t taste the same either, probably because these are less healthy for you {go figure}; but I’m no Martha Stewart mom. Most of the time when I try to go all out and make things off Pinterest they don’t turn out as a “nailed it”, but more of a “failed it”. I will still keep trying though maybe one day it might turn out, until then I’ll enjoy these with the pretty designs that the kids get excited about.
Tonight the kids asked if we could make them, and some hot-chocolate before bed as a bedtime snack. It took be about 8-10 minutes to bake them, and get some hot-chocolate ready. It’s not the greatest bedtime snack, but it’s awesome for the occasional treat. Making them from scratch would have taken way longer, and it would have required more dishes…this mom’s not a huge fan of dishes especially at night. The kids told me to dip my cookies in my hot-chocolate, and I admit it sounds gross but it’s actually really good I’m hooked. However there always has to be the “odd” one out, Emilee stuck to the traditional milk and cookies, she’s not the biggest fan of hot-chocolate. You can’t knock a traditional. 😉What’s something your family has as a snack before bed? Do you ever give in and give them a treat?
