Tonight the kids were flipping through the movie cases {we have three big case holders, and three or four smaller ones}, searching for a movie to watch. If you are a parent of more than one child, you know the struggle when it comes to finding a movie everyone agrees on. Keera named movie, after movie and Zaden’s response was always “no”. After about ten minutes of this I decided I was going to pick three movies, and they had agree which one we would watch. I chose the first one “Gnomeo and Juliet”, without even thinking about the other ones they both said “yes”. Great!
“Gnomeo and Juliet”- 2011
The movie is about two gnome families, that live next door to each-other in two human’s backyards. They are known as the “reds” and the “blues”, they don’t get a long and have some serious hate for each other. Then one night Gnomeo (a red) meets Juliet (a blue), and they fall in love. The film follows their secret forbidden love in a cute, and funny child-friendly way; similar to the classic “Romeo and Juliet” but with a twist. I would rate this film a 8/10. My three kids enjoyed it (ages: six, four and almost 2) and Zaden laughed through most of it.
Tonight didn’t go as planned. I had planned on giving the kids supper, a bath then have us watch a movie. It was poor planning and the kids were getting restless, so I started the movie as I made supper. After the kids ate supper they continued watching the movie, then at 8 o’clock I decided even thought the movie wasn’t done it was time for a bath. After their bath they got in their pj’s and we headed downstairs to finish the movie. I’ll be better prepared for movie night next Friday, or at least that’s what I tell myself. 😉
