HAPPY HALLOWEEN & TRICK OR TREAT
FROM THE WITCH, IRON–MAN, THE STRAWBERRY AND SHE–HULK.This year Keera and Zaden didn’t come trick or treating with us, they decided it would be more exciting to go with grandpa (papa). Of course they thought it would be a fabulous idea to end off the night with a sleepover; and a candy binge fest {Something mom wouldn’t allow at home :P}. I don’t mind because the partypooper in me really didn’t want to go around outside in the cold for hours door to door collecting candy. Throughout the day their grandpa kept sending me pictures, keeping me in the loop which made me very happy even if they were blurry! As for Emilee and I we started off the day lazing in bed, and I enjoyed some cuddle time. Then we went to go trick or treating at the mall, which was a bit disappointing. The people at the mall say the trick or treating starts at a certain time, and they had already ran out of candy before it was supposed to start. Apparently people are so desperate for free candy, they decide to take their children early…like 2 hours before. This is an issue every single year, but we go anyways because it’s nice for the kids to see what trick or treating is in a warm safe environment. Bonus: it’s an excuse for the kids to dress up in cute costumes.After we went trick or treating at the mall, we went out for supper it’s a tradition I started last year. {I want the kids to be able to do something fun for Halloween, because in the future the whole going house to house for candy might die out. It’s already difficult to find houses that are still giving away candy, not to mention safe candy.}
Right around that time Keera and Zaden were going trick or treating all the way in Langdon with their grandpa. They were so excited when I talked to them on the phone, talking about how many house they had already gone to. Above is Keera and Zaden’s Halloween candy loot, Emilee got a small bucketful and some new pajamas (pjs from me obviously). Now I’m off to snuggle up with Em and watch a movie.
What did your child(ren) dress up as for Halloween? Do you guys have any Halloween traditions? What do you think about going house to house for candy on Halloween?
