We found this really neat produce place it’s just on 5th avenue, NE here in Calgary. It’s called Freestone Produce Inc, and we got some pretty great finds. We bought eight containers of organic strawberries for (10$), two containers of small red grapes for (2.50$), and two containers of blueberries for (1.50$). Also we got six limes for (2$), a mini watermelon for (1.99$), a case of tomatoes for (8.99$), and last but not least six heads of romaine lettuce for (3.98$). In total everything came out to 30.96$+ tax, which I personally think is a steal of a deal. I never really thought of myself as a person that would enjoy a tomato sandwich, but I’ve got to say I’m addicted. Now we can have a healthy delicious, simple breakfast every morning!I made sure to cut, wash, and freeze the strawberries; and blueberries. It’s so easy to grab some fresh berries out of the freezer, and pop them into the blender for a healthy smoothie. The grapes and watermelon make a healthy snack option, and the limes can be used to give water a fresh twist or we can use it with our pop. 😛 I plan on using the lettuce with some chicken we have and making a chicken salad, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Is there any good places you like to shop for cheap, good quality produce?
