Yesterday I took photos of Keera’s room, then I didn’t clean it until today..I forgot to get before photos of the bed when we were in the middle of cleaning the room it was really overwhelming. Oh well c’est la vie, but in case you are intrigued as to what happens when you leave a 6 year old and a 3 year old alone in a space for more then five minutes unsupervised here’s some before photos. [This is a couple weeks worth of mess, go ahead and judge I’m a tired working mom :)] Also in Keera’s defense it was mostly Zaden that tornado-ed around the room, but that doesn’t really change anything we can’t go back. Here’s the before photos; After three hours of cleaning and reorganizing, I’m completely happy with the transformation. It turns out that my 3 year old Tasmanian devil son, brought a whole bunch of my important papers in Keera’s room that’s the reason why it took me so long to clean. I was determined that I would clean the room and not just take things out, something I would do in the passed. That’s another reason why the process took so long, I have two huge boxes of donation items, and a couple of things to sell. Even though my kids abandoned me, and left me to clean by myself. Rough life right, lol. I’m super excited with what I managed to do, and the excitement on Keera’s face was definitely worth it. Now it’s time for the after pictures!! This is the left side of the room when you first walk into the door. I took Keera’s camping chair and set it up in the corner with her books, so she could have a little “reading nook area”. I removed the plastic dresser eyesore, which was just being used to store junk we didn’t want or need simply because it was there. I moved the location of her dresser so she can use it as a night stand too. When you walk into the room on the right hand side, I positioned the desk. That’s Keera’s new “homework” area, away from the noise down in the kitchen so she can focus. I put up on the wall some of her stuff. 🙂 Next you’ll notice we swapped out Keera’s blanket, for her birthday she got a Little Mermaid blanket. It was awesome seeing the smile on Keera’s face after I showed her, her room. She twirled around in her room and kept saying over and over “wow there’s so much room SO clean”Here’s the closet, nothing really impressive but the before was scary, so this is a much better improvement. There you go one last view of the bedroom, from another angle. Everything has a place and is in it’s place. It’s a 6 year olds bedroom I don’t expect it to stay perfect (yes this is my OWN version of a perfect room), but I’m pleased to say that it still looks like this. Keera is motivated to keeping it the way it looks, she said now she can find her stuff and she sleeps good. If she’s happy with it then so am I!
