This year Santa went a little too overboard, with the the stockings and gifts. I even went overboard with the gifts too, next Christmas really needs and is going to be way more organized. I’m thinking I will start my Christmas shopping December 1st. When do you do it? Every time I buy something I will write down what it is and who it’s for. There has to be a cap somewhere right?! I waited until 1 1/2 weeks before Christmas to start buying everyone’s gifts, mostly because I had nowhere to stash them and I wasn’t really able to get to the store alone (not surprising with three kids, and okay okay let’s be honest I was also procrastinating). That resulted in me spending more then I wanted to, and I bought more then I planned on buying. I ended up returning a lot of stuff back to the store, to get my money back. All because I would buy stuff while I was rushing around and later on I would find something even better for a cheaper price. I wasn’t keeping track of the gifts and I let it get out of hand, goodbye money ha ha. If I had sat down and my organizing stuff I probably wouldn’t have had to waste all that time returning things back to the store.
Disorganized Christmas 2014
I know everyone finds the holiday season and holiday shopping overwhelming, to add to my holiday stress my mom has her birthday on the 24th, and my oldest daughter has her birthday on the 25th of December. That means I’m shopping for Christmas and two birthdays, even thought it was a lot of stress and work it was totally worth it to see everyone’s faces on Christmas. The only regret I have is that I wasn’t better organized, but there’s plenty of time to get to that for this year. This year we did things a little different, instead of waking up and opening gifts right away. Everyone got up, showered and dressed then we all had breakfast before we opened gifts. It’s a lot easier to enjoy the morning of gifts process when you’ve showered, eaten and had a cup of coffee! Every year we let Keera open her birthday gifts first, then we do the Christmas gifts. After all of that (and with three kids it takes awhile) we had Keera’s birthday cake.
